Briston Maroney is an American singer and songwriter who was born on January 24th, 1998 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born in Kennesaw but was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Briston began writing music in his teens and was inspired by listening to John Prine, Jim Croce, John Mayer, White Stripes and Kings of Leon. He attended Lipscomb University. Briston auditioned for American Idol when he was fifteen and made it into the Top 30 before getting cut. He is popularly known for his 2017 songs including Hangin’ Around, Virginia and It’s Not My Fault. The singles perfectly set the ground for his 2018 Carnival EP which further increased his fame. His sophomore EP Indiana dropped in May 2019 which included the famous song Caroline. Maroney’s debut full-length album Sunflower appeared in 2021 and was produced by John Congleton. Briston was featured on Taylor Swift’s Playlist by Me! 2019 Apple Music playlist.
