British India is an Australian indie rock band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. The members of the band are Declan Melia on lead vocals and guitar, Will Drummond on bass guitar, and Matt O’Gorman on drums. They formed in 2004 after attending high school together at St. Bede’s College in Melbourne, Australia. They released their debut single in 2005 titled Outside 109 that was produced by Lindsay Gravina. That same year they released their debut EP titled Counter Culture. In 2007 they released their debut studio album Guillotine that reached number 51 on the ARIA chart and sold 20k albums within the first year. The album was nominated for Triple J’s J Award and the band won the Australian Independent Record Award for Best New Independent Artist. They have since released the albums Thieves, Avalanche, Controller, Nothing Touches Me, and Forgetting the Future. They have released a total of 6 studio albums that have all charted on the ARIA Album Chart.
