Brittany Packnett Cunningham is an award-winning American activist, educator, writer, and co-founder of Campaign Zero. She served as the executive director for Teach for America in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of President Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
Born on November 12, 1984 in St. Louis, Missouri, Brittany is fueled by the desire to seek social justice, freedom, and make a permanent change in the society through her voice. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis and did her Masters in secondary education in American University.
She became a significant figure in the fight against social injustice following her contribution in the 2014 Ferguson protest that erupted after a black man Michael Brown was killed by a police officer. Her enigmatic involvement in the protest was noticed by Governor Jay Nixon, and she was eventually appointed to serve on the Ferguson Commission.
She co-founded Campaign Zero in 2015, the same year she was appointed to Barack Obama's Task Force to help end police brutality. Thanks to her immense contributions, Time Magazine named her as one of the new 12 faces of black leadership.
She is the Vice President of Social Impact at BET and host of the news and justice podcast UNDISTRACTED.
