An Olympic gold medalist, Brittney Yevette Griner was born on October 18, 1990. in Houston, Texas, United States. She is a highly celebrated US basketball player and represents Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Griner has an exceptional array of achievements. In her college days at Baylor University she accumulated an impressive list of honors for herself and her team. During her time there Baylor Lady Bears won the 2012 title with a spectacular 40-0 perfect mark, and achieved a 135-15 record (.900).
She was crowned the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player (2012), Regional Most Outstanding Player in NCAA (2010, 2012) and NCAA All-Regional (2011, 2012). She was drafted into the WNBA during 2013 for Phoenix Mercury. During her seven-season with Phoenix Mercury, the team grabbed the 2014 championship with a league-best 29-5 record. Brittney holds the record of 129 total blocked shots in a single–season of WNBA in 2014. Her significant awards include Olympics Gold Metal (2016) and FIBA World Cup (2014 and 2018).
