Gerry Lester Watson Jr., better known as Bubba Watson, is a professional golfer born on November 5, 1978, in Bagdad, Florida. He began his golf career when he played golf for his high school. He moved on to play for Faulkner State Community College and later for the University of Georgia. He was selected three times for the AJGA All-America and helped his team to the 2000 SEC title. Watson turned pro in 2002 and played at the Compaq Classic of New Orleans. In 2007, he played in his first U.S. Open and finished the tournament tied in fifth place. Watson earned his first PGA Tour in 2010 when he won the Travelers Championship. He has followed this up with several more wins, including winning the 2012 and 2014 Masters Tournament and the 2016 Northern Trust Open. In 2016, he was part of the team that represented the United States in golf, the first appearance of the sport in the Olympics since 1904.
