Built to Spill is an American indie rock band that was formed in 1992, in Boise, Idaho. The band was formed by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Dough Martsch, bassist Brett Netson, and drummer Ralf Youtz. Their first release was an album titled ‘Ultimate Alternative Wavers’, in 1993, which included 10 songs.
Their second album was released in 1994, and it was titled ‘There’s Nothing Wrong with Love’. Their second album received positive critique and it allowed the band to sign a deal with Warner Bros. Their third album came out two years later, and it was titled ‘The Normal Years’, which compiled rarities and outtakes. In 1997, they released an album titled ‘Perfect from Now On’. In 1999, they released an album titled ‘Keep It Like a Secret’, which was followed by ‘Ancient Melodies of the Future’ in 2001. Other records by the band were ‘You in Reverse’ in 2006, ‘There Is No Enemy’ in 2009, ‘Untethered Moon’ in 2015, and ‘Plays the Songs of Daniel Johnston’ in 2020.
