Caifanes is a Spanish rock band formed in Mexico City, Mexico in 1987. The current members of the band are Saúl Hernández on vocals and guitar, Sabo Romo on bass guitar, Diego Herrera on keyboards, and Alfonso André on drums. Their first live show was in Rockotitlan in 1987. They became popular throughout Mexico City and in 1998 released their debut album Caifanes (Matenme porque me muero, Volumen 1). By 1989 they were one of the most popular rock bands to come from Mexico City and were frequently playing sold out shows in Mexico. In 1990 they released their second album titled El Diablito (Volumen 2) through BMG Records. In 1992 they released their third studio album El Silencio and in 1994 released their fourth studio album titled El Nervio Del Volcán. In 1994 the group opened for The Rolling Stones in Mexico City. In 1995 the group disbanded playing their final show in San Luis Potosi in August. They reunited in 2010 and played Vive Latino Festival and Coachella Festival in 2011.
