Calle 13 is a band from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. The band was formed in 2004, and its recording members were lead vocalist René Pérez Joglar, guitarist/pianist Eduardo Cabra Martinez, and backup vocalist Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar. The band has also had touring members. The band released its first self-titled album in 2005. The album was critically acclaimed and gained fame, especially the singles “Atrévete-te-te” and “Se Vale Tó-Tó”.
In 2007, they released their second album, titled “Residente o Visitante”. This album was similarly successful and helped them gain fame in Latin America. The third album, “Entren Los Que Quieran”, was released in November 2010. Their last album, “Multi Viral” was released in March 2014. The following year, the band was dissolved and the members went their separate ways. The band has won 21 Latin Grammy Awards, the most ever won by a band.
