Camera Obscura is an indie pop band from Glasgow, Scotland, UK. The band was formed in 1996 by Tracyanne Campbell (vocalist and guitarist), John Henderson, and Gavin Dunbar. David Skirving joined the band in 1996 as a guitarist but when he left in 2001, he was replaced by Kenny McKeeve. In 2001, Lee Thomson joined as band's permanent drummer, and Lindsay Boyd joined as a keyboard player. They released their first album in 2001 and it's called Biggest Bluest Hi Fi. The first single from the album, Eighties Fan, was on BBC's Top 50 songs of the year list. After they released their second album in 2003, they started a tour in the United Kingdom, and the first tour in the USA. Their third album Let's Get Out of the Country was recorded in Sweden in 2006. Their fourth album My Maudlin Career was released in 2009 and was selected as one of the UK Top 40 albums. In 2015, they were forced to stop their tour because of the illness of Carey Lander. In 2018, announced their return as part of the Boaty Weekender, a cruise festival sailing from Barcelona to Cagliari in the summer of 2019.
