Capture Bio

Capture the Crown, now known as Capture, is an Australian metalcore band that formed in 2010. The band consists of Jeffrey Wellfare as the lead vocalist, Blake Ellis on bass guitar and Jye Menzies on guitar. Capture the Crown gained popularity through their YouTube single release of ‘You Call That A Knife? This is A Knife!’ which reached five million views in 2010. In 2011, the band was joined by Kris Sheehan as their drummer and in 2012, released their single ‘#OIMATEWTF’ featuring vocals by Denis Shaforostov from Make Me Famous. After the release of ‘#OIMATEWTF’, the band traveled to the U.S. to record their debut album, ‘Til Death’ at Chango Studios in Florida. ‘Til Death’ appeared on the Top Hard Rock chart at number 21, Top Heatseekers at number 7 and Top Independent Albums at number 25. Their following album, ‘Reign of Terror’ was released in 2014 and charted in the U.S. Billboard 200 at number 86. Later that year, they signed on to Artery Recordings and changed their name to Capture. Through Artery Recordings, they released singles ‘the Lake’ and ‘Lost Control’ before the band went on hiatus until 2018, where they went on tour with MyChildren MyBride, Earth Groans, Secrets and Half Hearted for MyChildren MyBride’s Unbreakable 10th Anniversary Tour. Capture’s latest album, ‘Lose Control’ was released in 2019 under Artery Recordings.
