Carl Froch was born in Nottingham, England as Carl Martin Froch on July 2, 1977. He won a bronze medal during the World Amateur Boxing Championship in 2001.
Froch debuted as a professional boxer in March 2002, and his first match took place in York Hall against Michael Pinnock. He won his first title in 2003 when he bagged the English Super-Middleweight belt. He won the Commonwealth title the next year followed by the British title.
He won the WBC Super Middleweight belt in 2008 when he went against Jean Pascal. Froch won the IBF super middleweight title and the WBA middleweight title in 2013. In 2014, the British Boxing Board of Control named him as the best British boxer for the third time.
During the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2015, he received the Member of the Order of the British Empire award for his services to Boxing.
