Carla Esparza Bio
Carla Esparza is a mixed martial artist (MMA) fighter born on 10th October 1987 in Torrance, California, United States. She currently competes in the Strawweight division of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). In August 2010, she replaced Angela Magana in Bellator MMA at the last minute. She was placed in the 115 lb women’s tournament slot for the Bellator Season 3.
Esparza made her XFC debut in December 2011 against Felice Herrig at XDX 15: Tribute and won the fight through a unanimous decision. She signed with UFC in September 2013 and went on to defeat Jessica Penne in the semifinal and claim the win through unanimous decision. She faced Rose Namajunas in the finals in December 2014. She went on to win the fight. In May 2022, she faced Namajunas in a rematch at UFC 274.
