Carlos Santana was born in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic on April 8, 1986. In 2005, he signed with the Los Angeles Dodger, and in 2008, he was traded to Cleveland Indians. He made his major league debut with the team in 2010. He is a member of the Cleveland Indians. He has been signed to his current team until 2020. He received the 2017 Wilson Defensive Player. He was also 15th in the 2013 AL MVP voting. He has been a member of the national baseball team of the Dominican Republic during the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classic. He has also played in the MLB All-Stars in the 2014 and the 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series. He has also been a finalist for the American League Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
