Cat Clyde is a Canadian singer-songwriter, raised between Stratford and Russellville, Ontario. Her music is a unique combination of soulful blues and sweet, folk, dulcet tones. She is influenced by artists including Lead Belly, Janis Joplin, and Etta James.
In 2017, she released her debut album titled Ivory Castanets, which included the popular single Mama Said. She released her second album in 2019, titled Hunter’s Trance. At a young age, she began composing songs and taught herself to play guitar. When she was in high school, she played in several bands and graduated in 2015 from a music industry arts program. Prior to releasing her debut album, Fader Magazine described her as a bluesy new hope. She began touring in 2017, supporting acts like Joe Purdy, ZZ Ward, Paul Kelly, L.A. Salami, and Rodriguez. Her song, I Don’t Belong Here, was used as musical accompaniment to the This Month on TCM segment on the Turner Classic Movies TV network. In 2020, together with fellow Canadian singer Jeremie Albino, she released a duet album named Blue Blue Blue, featuring 2 original songs, and 7 covers.
