Catherine Ann Cora, better known as Cat Cora, is an American professional chef and TV personality who is best known for her appearances on Iron Chef. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi, United States, on April 3, 1967. She studied physiology and biology at the University of Mississippi, but a love for the culinary arts drove her to study at the Culinary Institute of America. She opened the restaurant Cat Cora's Que in 2008, and later on, she launched Cat Cora's Kitchen and Cat Cora's Gourmet. She has appeared in numerous TV shows including Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters, Kitchen Accomplished, The Bonnie Hunt Show, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, The Queen Latifah Show, and Home & Family. She is best known for appearing in Iron Chef America: The Series alongside Alton Brown, Mark Dacascos, Daniella Arpaia, and Bobby Flay. Cat won the Bon Appetit Magazine's Teacher of the Year Award in 2006.
