Caterina Scorsone is a Canadian actress, born on October 16, 1981, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is best known for her role as Amelia Shepherd in the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy and also appearing in the show's spin-off, Private Practice. She had her first TV show experience when she was only 8, on the Canadian children's show Mr. Dressup.
Caterina has a BA in Arts and Science from the University of Toronto. Her role in the TV show Power Play garnered her a nomination for a Gemini Award which is the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy Awards. She starred in Missing, alongside Vivica A. Fox, in 2003. Some of her other popular works include My Horrible Year, Common Ground, Rated X, The Devil’s Arithmetic, and Rescuers: Stories of Courage: Two Families. Some of her feature film credits include Borderline Normal, Strike, and The Third Miracle with Anne Heche and Ed Harris.
