Catherine Deneuve is an actress born on 22nd October 1943, in Paris, France. She is best known for appearing in the historical drama film “The Last Metro” in 1980, for which she won the David di Donatello award in the category of Best Foreign Actress. She started her acting career in 1957, playing the role of a schoolgirl in the comedy-drama “Les Collegiannes”. In 1960, she appeared in the film “L'Homme à femmes”, and her appearance caught the attention of French film director Jacques Demy who cast her in his 1964 music romantic drama film “Les Parapluies de Cherbourg”.
In 1980, she appeared in Francois Truffaut’s historical drama film “Le Dernier metro”, for which she received the Cesar Award in the category of Best Actress. She also appeared alongside Vincent Perez in the period drama film set “Indochine”. She also earned a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her appearance in the film. In 2000, Catherina appeared alongside singer Bjork in the musical drama film “Dancer in the Dark”.
