Catherine Tate is a British actress, born on December 5, 1969, in London. She is known for her role as Donna Noble in the franchise Doctor Who, opposite David Tennant. She has won numerous awards for her work in the series The Catherine Tate Show, as well as being nominated for an International Emmy Award and 7 BAFTAs.
After applying many times to become a student of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where other popular actors studied like Peggy Ashcroft and Laurence Olivier, she was accepted on the fourth try. She started her TV career with small roles in the fire brigade-themed drama London’s Burning, and the police procedural The Bill. In 2000 and 2001, she performed at theatrical shows during the annual Edinburgh International Film Festival, which helped her gain a co-starring role in the sitcom Wild West. In 2004, she was given her own show, The Catherine Tate Show, a sketch comedy show. From 2011 to 2013, she appeared in the American comedy TV show The Office, where she played Nellie Bertram. In 2017, she started doing voice work for the American animated TV series DuckTales.
