Cedric Burnside is a singer, songwriter and guitarist born on 26th August 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He was born into a family of musicians as her father was a drummer and his grandfather was a guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started his career in 2002 by playing on Richard Johnston’s first album, titled “FootHill Stomp”. In 2006, he toured with Lightin’ Malcolm and recorded the album “Juke Joint Duo”.
Their second album, titled “2 Man Wrecking Crew” was released in 2008. The album won the Blues Music Award in the category of Best New Artist Debut. In 2012, he collaborated with Bernard Allison in the recording of the album “Allison Burnside Express”. Other albums include “Descendants of Hill Country” in 2015, “Benton Country Relic” in 2018 and “I Be Trying” in 2021. Burnside also played cameo roles in the films “Tempted” in 2001 and “Black Snake Moan” in 2006.
