Celeda, born as Victoria Sharpe on November 17th, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois is a singer and drag performer based in the U.S. At the age of seven she began her singing career as a vocalist in her church choir. She then went on tour with the famous Cosmopolitan Choir
In the early 1990’s she caught the attention of house music producer Robert Coddington. She became the lead singer for the group Heavy Hitters. The group released a few singles which included the dance hits “Messin’ with My Mind,” “I Feel It,” and “Get It Together.” She then released some solo songs that charted on the U.S. Dance Club Play chart in the late 1990’s. The track “Music is the Answer” in collaboration with DJ Danny Tenaglia charted in at number 15 in 1998. The song also reached number 36 on the UK Singles Chart of the same year.
Celeda released her full album, This Is It, in 1999 in conjunction with Twisted Records and Kaos Records. The album contained all the above mentioned songs and also the dance hits “Let the Music Use You Up” and “Happy.”
