Celso Borges Mora, widely known as Celso Borges, is a highly accomplished Costa Rican soccer player with an illustrious career in Europe and North America's top soccer leagues. He was born in San José, Costa Rica, on May 27, 1988.
Borges began his journey in the sport with the youth setup at Saprissa, a club renowned for producing top talent in Costa Rica. In 2006, he took the significant step into professional soccer by joining the senior squad of Saprissa. Borges' career has seen him represent several prestigious clubs, including Fredrikstad FK, AIK, Deportivo La Coruña, Göztepe, and Alajuelense. During his time at Alajuelense, he had the privilege of playing alongside notable talents like Joel Campbell, Johan Venegas, and Carlos Mora.
On the international stage, Borges has been a vital asset to the Costa Rican national team since his senior international debut in 2008. His dedication and skill have contributed to numerous achievements, including winning the Primera División de Costa Rica and the Copa Centroamericana.
