Charles Aznavour, born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian in France on the 22nd of May 1924 and is a French-Armenian singer, actor, songwriter, activist and diplomat. Known for his unique ringing tenor with gravelly low notes and a career that spanned over 70 years he has so far recorded over 1200 songs in eight languages and written more than 80 songs for himself and others. Considered one of France’s most enduring singers he has been dubbed the French Frank Sinatra.
With a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and many other honours and awards, he has released over fifty studio albums and almost sixty EP’s since 1953, some of his English music includes such singles as Yesterday When I Was Young, The ‘I Love You’ Song and Take Me Away to name a few.
