Charlie Blackmon was born in Dallas, Texas on July 1, 1986. He was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 2004 MLB Amateur Draft although he did not sign. In the second round of the 2008 amateur draft, the Colorado Rockies chose him, and he signed a contract with the team. He mostly played in the AAA minor league team. The Rockies called him to the majors in 2011. He was part of the All-Star Games in 2014, in 2017 and 2018. He also earned the National League batting title in 2017. He is a two-time Silver Slugger Award. He was also the Player of the Month for May 2017 where he let as to triples and hits. In 2018, he signed a six-year contract with the Rockies.
