Charlie Brooker is an English author, screenwriter, producer, and television presenter born in Reading, England on March 3, 1971. He is best known for being one of the co-creators of the British television show Black Mirror. In the mid 90s he was a writer for the gaming magazine PC Zone and would also make comic strips for the magazine. In 2000 he started writing columns for the newspaper The Guardian and continued writing for them until 2010. In 2006 he became a writer and presenter on the television show Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe on BBC Four. The series lasted 5 seasons and ended in 2008. In 2011 he started working on the anthology series Black Mirror and has written and co-written a number of episodes in the four seasons that have been released so far. He has also been a writer and and appeared in a number of other shows, including Brass Eye, Dead Set, Newswipe with Charlie Brooker, 10 O’Clock Live, A Touch of Cloth, How Video Games Changed the World, and others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Black Mirror, three British Comedy Awards, a BAFTA Award, and more.
