Charlie Edwards Daniels was a prolific American songwriter-singer and musician who earned himself a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Grand Ole Opry with his phenomenal talent. The seasoned prodigal musician was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, United States, on October 28, 1936. Upon graduating from high school in 1955, Daniels was already skilled at playing various musical instruments. He started his career in 1964 and soon found himself working with the likes of Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. He formed the Charlie Daniels Band in 1972 and graced the radio with a number of hit songs including ‘The South’s Gonna Do It Again, In America, The Legend of Wooley Swamp and The Devil Went Down to Georgia’. With 20 Albums to his name and 9 songs in the Billboard 100, the contributions Charlie Daniels made to the world of country music will never be forgotten. The legendary singer passed away on July 6 2020, leaving behind a formidable legacy.
