Chet Faker is the stage name of Nicholas James Murphy who was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on June 23, 1988. His 2012 EP Thinking in Textures made it to the Australian charts. He released another EP with Flume, Lockjaw, which includes the single “Drop the Game” which entered the Australian charts. His debut album, Built on Glass (2014), topped the Australian charts as well as the dance and indie charts in the country. The song also charted in Belgium’s Ultratop charts, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK and the US Billboard 200. In 2015, he collaborated with Marcus Marr to release the EP Work. Some of the most popular songs off the album include “Gold,” “Talk Is Cheap,” and “1998.” In 2019, Chet Faker released another album Run Fast Sleep Naked.
