Chip Foose (born 1984, in Santa Barbara, California) is a famous American automobile designer and the host of the Velocity Reality Television series “Overhaulin”. Foose had been interested in cars since he was a boy. His father, Sam Foose, was the owner of the company, “Project Design” where Chip worked when he was only seven years old.
Soon, Chip advanced to study in the Art Centre College of Design. He worked with several companies over time including Stehrenberger Design, Boyd Coddington, J Mays at Ford and others. He became renowned for his design which he gave to Coddington which included Boydster I and Boydster II. While Boyd was facing bankruptcy, Foose left the company and launched his own automotive and product design company named Foose Design in Huntington Beach, California, United States.
In 2003, he gained more prominence after TLC’s documentary on his designs and the creation of the modified 2002 Ford Thunderbird called Speedbird. In 2004, he became the star of the “Overhaulin” show that aired on TLC.
