Janney Marin Rivera, better known as Chiquis Rivera, is a reality television personality and singer born on June 26, 1985, in Long Beach, California. Rivera is the daughter of the late singer Jenni Rivera. Her first reality television stint was in the show Chiquis & Raq-C, where the camera would follow the life of Jenni, Chiquis, and her friend, radio personality Raq-C. Rivera would appear in several more reality television shows, all based around her life and being a part of the Rivera family. Rivera has also appeared in talk shows like The Real and Noches con Platanito. In 2015, Rivera starred in the film, Tattooed Love. Rivera has followed in her mother’s footsteps. In 2014 she sang the song Esa No Soy Yo for the first time in public in honor of her mother. Later that year, she wrote and released her first debut single, Paloma Blanca. She was nominated for and won Univision’s Lo Nuestro Awards, the same one her mother received several times before. The following year, she released her debut album, Ahora. In 2015, she wrote and published her memoir, Forgiveness. In the book, she detailed her fraught relationship with her mother just before her passing.
