Chord Paul Overstreet (born February 17, 1989 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA) is an actor and pop singer most renowned for his role as Sam Evans in the Fox television series Glee from 2009 to 2015. His brother, Nash Overstreet, is in the band Hot Chelle Rae.
As a teenager, Chord featured in many advertisements, including Hollister, Famous Footwear, and Gap. After graduating from high school in 2007, Chord was encouraged by his parents to pursue a career in performing arts. Chord appeared in iCarly in 2007 and Private in 2009.
In early 2010, Chord received a call from his manager to audition for an open casting call for the FOX television series Glee (2009). After several callbacks and audition performances, Chord got the role of quarterback turned glee club member, Sam Evans, for the hit show. Since his debut performance on the season premiere of the 2nd season of Glee (2009), Chord has received critical and commercial praise, along with a large following of dedicated fans.
He has also appeared in other movies and shows including, No Ordinary Family (2010) and Pickle and Peanut (2016-2017). On the music scene, Chord released debut singles, “Sunkissed” 4th Man Out (2015), and “Good Times”. He made his major-label recording debut with the country-tinged 2017 EP Tree House Tapes.
