Chris Bosh is an American former professional basketball player born in Dallas, Texas on March 24, 1984. He started learning to play basketball at 4 years old and would play with his younger brother growing up. He played basketball while in high school at Lincoln High School and received attention from college recruiters. Bosh attended college at Georgia Tech and played with the Yellow Jackets. He left college after his freshman season and entered the 2003 NBA Draft. He was drafted by the Toronto Raptors fourth overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. Bosh played with the Raptors from 2003 to 2010 and became a five-time NBA All-Star while playing for them. He also played with the U.S. national team and won a gold medal in 2008 at the Summer Olympics in Beijing. In 2010 he signed a contract with the Miami Heat and stayed with the team until 2017. On February 12, 2017 he announced that he planned to retire from the NBA. In 2004 he established the Chris Bosh Foundation that aims to help young people in academics and athletics. Throughout his career he made a number of achievements, including being the third youngest player in NBA history to record 1,000 rebounds, the fourth youngest player in the NBA to record 20 points and 20 rebounds in a game, Toronto’s all-time leader in rebounds, Toronto’s all-time leader in double-doubles, and many more.
