Christopher John Weitz, better known as Chris Weitz, is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor best known for his work in film and television. He was born in New York City, New York, United States, on November 30, 1969. Chris made his film debut in 1998 when he co-wrote the film Antz. He has since had a successful career in film as a director, screenwriter, and producer, with a filmography that includes the blockbusters Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Cinderella, American Pie 2, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, and The Golden Compass. As an actor, he is best known for starring in the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith alongside Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kerry Washington, and Vince Vaughn. For his work in the film About a Boy, Chris received an Oscar nomination for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.
