Christiane Amanpour is a journalist and TV host who works as the Chief International Anchor for CNN as well as host for the Amanpour program on CNN International. She was born on 12th January 1958 in Ealing, Middlesex, England. Her father was Iranian and she grew up in Tehran until the age of 11. After graduating with a B.A degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island, Amanpour got a job with CNN as an entry-level desk assistant.
Between 1992 and 2010, she worked as the chief international correspondent for CNN and the anchor for the Amanpour program on CNN. In March 2010, she left CNN and joined ABC News, where she anchored the political program “This Week.” In January 2012, she left ABC News and went back to CNN. In the same year, CNN announced the return of the interview talk show Amanpour. In May 2018, she replaced Charlie Rose on PBS. Her new TV program “Amanpour & Company” started airing in September 2018
