Christoph Waltz was born on October 4, 1956, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of set designers and actors; he followed suit when he attended Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts. He started his acting career in Europe, starring in theatre productions and television shows.

He is most known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Django Unchained (2012). He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for each role. He also won Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards for each role, among other awards for Inglourious Basterds.
