Christy Nockels was born as Christy Lynette Hill on November 17, 1973 in Fort Worth, Texas. She met her future husband in 1993 at a Christian seminar and they married two years later. They both shared a deep passion for religion, so they began serving at their church and making music together. They ended up moving to Nashville, Tennessee and got signed with the popular Rocketown Records. They named themselves Watermark and have gotten several nominations under this name.
Christy received a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards in 2005, 2007, and 2008. Her first solo album was titled Life Light Up, which was released in 2009 and was warmly received within the Christian music community. She has released three other albums of her own, including Let It Be Jesus in 2015, and she has also released six albums with her husband, including their first one titled Holy Roar, which was released in 2006.
