DJ Chuckie was born Clyde Sergio Narain in Paramaribo, Suriname, on June 25, 1978. He rose to fame in the mid-1990s and early 2000s as a member at the forefront of the “dirty house” music movement, which popularized house and electronic music in urban areas. Much of his music is known to sample Latin rhythms, as well. In getting serious about his DJing career, Chuckie moved to the Netherlands, where he worked as a private DJ at parties for his friends as well as in local clubs. Between 2004 and 2006, Chuckie won a total of four awards for his DJ skills, and has released hit tracks such as “Let the Bass Kick”, “Make Some Noise”, and “Aftershock”. Chuckie has also produced music for the likes of Ke$ha, 50 Cent, and Akon.
