Circa Survive is an American progressive rock band from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The 5-piece band was founded in 2005 by vocalist Anthony Green and guitarist Colin Frangicetto. The two made additions to the band such as second guitarist Brendan Ekstrom, bassist Nick Beard and drummer Steve Clifford. Once the band was formed, they released their first album, ‘Juturna’ under Equal Vision Records in 2005. Circa Survive went on to release their second album, ‘On Letting Go’ in 2007 and in the same year managed to claim a spot at the Coachella Music Festival. Their second album was popularized by their performance and brought the album to the Top 40 of the Billboard Top 200. The band went on to sign with Atlantic Records, releasing their third album, ‘Blue Sky Noise’ in 2010 followed by their self-released fourth album, ‘Violent Waves’ in 2012 which debuted on the number 15 position on the album charts. After its release, Circa Survive joined Sumerian Records which released a deluxe edition of ‘Violent Waves’. The band produced their fifth album, ‘Descensus’ in 2014 and afterwards, released three deluxe versions of their albums combined. Their biggest hit, ‘The Difference Between Medicine and Poison Is The Dose’ currently has 9 million plays on Spotify.
