City and Colour is a Canadian singer and songwriter, also known as the alias of guitarist and vocalist Dallas Green from Alexisonfire. Originally from St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Green launched his first few singles online in 2004 as City and Colour, leading up to his 2005 EP titled ‘Sometimes’ released by Dine Alone Records. Green’s first solo release was received well by the public, becoming a certified platinum album by 2006 and won a Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year in 2007. As Green became recognised as City and Colour, he released ‘City and Colour Live’ in 2007 and his second full length album, ‘Bring Me Your Love’ in 2008. Popular singles from his second album are ‘Sleeping Sickness’ with 17 million plays on Spotify and ‘The Girl’ with 67 million plays and his most popular song to date. The album won him another Juno award for Songwriter of the Year in 2009. City and Colour, along with his band, toured the U.S. in 2010 promoting ‘Bring Me Your Love’ and a UK tour along with artists P!nk and Butch Walker. A year later in 2011, Green dropped his third album, ‘Little Hell’ with his single, ‘Fragile Bird’ which was his first song to reach number 1 on the Canadian Rock/Alternative Chart. In the same year, Alexisonfire announced their disbandment which pushed Dallas to pursue more music as City and Colour. Green released a number of albums after the disbandment such as ‘The Hurry and the Harm’ in 2013, followed by ‘If I Should Go Before You’ in 2015, ‘Guide Me Back Home’ in 2018 leading up to his most recent album, ‘A Pill for Loneliness’ in 2019.
