CKY Bio

CKY is an American rock band, formed in 1998 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The name of the band is an abbreviation for “Camp Kill Yourself”, and its members are Deron Miller as guitarist and former vocalist, Chad I Ginsburg as the current vocalist and guitarist, and Jess Margera on the drums. This group was initially known due to its contributions to the CKY video series, which was part of the basis for what eventually became MTV Series “Jackass” (2000). In 1999 they released through “Distant Recordings and Teil Martin International'' their debut album called “Volume 1”, followed by “Volume 2” (1999), and signed with the American record label group “The Island Def Jam Music Group'' (1998). In 2002 CKY released the “Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild '' album, reaching number 99 on the US Billboard 200 music chart, and outside of the US it also reached number 108 on the UK Albums Chart and number 10 on the UK Rock & Metal Album Chart. By 2005, and after releasing the “An Answer Can Be Found” album, the band signed with “Roadrunner Records'' and released “Carver City'' in 2009. Despite Miller leaving in 2011, Margera and Grinsburg keep working on music, along with 2019’s new bassist acquisition Chris Weyh.
