Claressa Shields was born in Flint, Michigan on March 17, 1995. She made her debut on November 2016. She is a two-time Junior Olympic National Champion. She was the Women’s Continental Champion in 2012 and the USA Boxing Youth National Champion in 2013. She was the USA Boxing National Champion in 2014 and 2015. In 2015, she won in the Pan American Games and was the first American Female to win a gold medal. In the same year, she was named USA Boxing Female Athlete of the Year. She was also the U.S. Olympics Trials Champion.
