Clarke Peters is an actor born on 7th April 1952, in New York City, United States. He is widely known for appearing in the crime drama television series “The Wire” as Lester Freamon from 2002 to 2008. Peters started his career in 1979 with the musical drama film “The Music Machine,” playing the role of Laurie. In 2008, he starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Selma Blair in the independent drama film “The Poker House.” He also appeared in Kasi Lemmns – directed biographical musical drama “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
Peters made his television debut in 1980 with the anthology drama series “Play for Today,” playing the role of Yankee Billy. In 2005, he appeared in an episode of the legal drama television series “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” opposite Bebe Neuwirth and Amy Carlson. He also appeared in the medical drama television series “Holby City” alongside John Michie, Ptshy Kensit, Robert Powell, and Ade Edmondson.
