Cliff Curtis is a New Zealand actor born in Rotorua, New Zealand on July 27, 1968. He started his career acting in roles in amateur productions of musicals like Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof. He went on to work at several New Zealand theater companies and had roles in productions of Othello, The Cherry Orchard, Macbeth, The End of Golden Weather, Weeds, and others. In 1991 he landed his first on screen role in the television film Undercover. He landed his debut role in a feature film in 1993 in the movie The Piano and continued landing roles in films like Desperate Remedies, Rapa Nui, Deep Rising, The Insider, Blow, Collateral Damage, Runaway Jury, River Queen, A Thousand Words, The Dark Horse, The Meg, and many more. In 1995 he landed his first role on a television show in the series Mysterious Island. He has also had roles in the shows City Life, Traffic, Trauma, Body of Proof, Missing, Gang Related, Fear the Walking Dead, and Talking Dead. In 2014 he won an Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in the film The Dark Horse.
