Born Clinton Darryl Mansell on January 7, 1963, singer and composer Clint Mansell rose to fame as the lead singer of Pop Will Eat Itself, a British band that was active from 1986 to 1996. He expanded his musical repertoire after the group broke up to include music composition for films, and was given the opportunity to write the score for the movie Requiem for a Dream. The main theme from the movie was the song “Lux Æterna “, which was also rearranged and used in the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Clint Mansell then went on to compose scores for the movies 11:14 in 2003, Smokin’ Aces in 2006, The Wrestler in 2008, and Black Swan in 2010.
