Clive Owen Bio

Clive Owen was born on October 3, 1964, in Coventry. The English actor had his big break on the small screen in the British TV series Chancer (1990-1991). He is more well known for his work on the big screen, including films like Children of Men (2006), Inside Man (2006), and Sin City (2005.)

In 1997, Owen played dermatologist Larry Gray in the Cottesloe Theatre’s production of Closer. In 2004, the play was adapted into a movie, with Owen reprising his role as Larry. Owen went on to receive multiple awards and nominations for the role, including the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, the BAFTA Award, and the New York Film Critics Circle Award. Owen has also received awards for his role as Robert Parks in Gosford Park (2001).

Owen has brought his talents to the small screen as Dr. John W. Thackery in The Knick (2014-2015). He is returning to the stage as Rene Gallimard in the Broadway production of M. Butterfly.
