Cloud Control is an Australia alternative and indie rock band from Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Established in 2005, the band consists of four members, Alister Wright as the lead vocalist and a rhythm guitarist, Heidi Lenffer on vocals and keyboard, Ulrich Lenffer on drums and percussion and Jeremy Kelshaw on vocals and bass. All born and raised in the Blue Mountains, the band met during their theatre rehearsals and had their first performance at a Battle of the Bands competition, which they won. In 2008, Cloud Control released a self titled EP where their single, ‘Death Cloud’ received airplay on Australian youth radio station Triple J. After a number of festival performances and a string of concerts, Cloud Control released their full length debut album ‘Bliss Release’ in 2010. Their single, ‘There’s Nothing in the Water We Can’t Fight’ landed on number 18 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 in the same year. Cloud Control received two ARIA nominations for Best Rock Album and Breakthrough Artist along with two wins at the Jagermister Australian Independent Music Awards for Best Independent Album and Breakthrough Independent Artist. After receiving high acclaim, the band supported Foo Fighters for a flood relief concert in Brisbane, Australia. Their second album arrived in 2013 titled ‘Dream Cave’ which won the Australian Music Prize and landed at number 9 on the Australian music charts. In 2014, the band followed with ‘Dream Cave Unplugged’ followed by their most recent album, ‘Zone’ which was released in 2017. ‘Zone’ is their most popular album yet, oozing out smooth indie rock on their single, ‘Panopticon’ with 7 million plays on Spotify.
