Cody Lovaas (born June 15, 1998 in Dallas, Texas) is a musician and surfer most renowned as the youngest artist to ever receive the honor of Best New Artist from the San Diego Music Awards. He was also named 2015's Breakout Artist of the Year by AXS Entertainment and Examiner.com.
Lovaas started playing the guitar at age seven. Ben Harper and his mentor, Jason Mraz, discovered him while playing at an open mike at the age of 14.
After signing with Black Box, Lovaas released his official debut single Titled “Lie” in 2017. The track racked up millions of streams on popular streaming playlists. In 2018, Shallou and Kasbo produced his more atmospheric track "Find" which became an even bigger viral hit. In the same year, Lovaas also released the song "Turbulence," which featured The Voice 2013 finalist, Caroline Pennell. His debut EP, Honestly, followed on Black Box in 2019. He became the youngest SurfAid Ambassador alongside Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater and Rob Machado.
