Coheed and Cambria Bio

Coheed and Cambria are an American rock band that produce heavy metal, pop-progressive rock music from New York. The band formed in 1995 in Nyack, New York comprised of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Claudio Sanchez along with Zach Cooper as backing vocals and bass, Travis Stever on lead guitar and backing vocals and Josh Eppard on drums, keyboard and backing vocals. The band’s name and concept is inspired by Sanchez’s science fiction graphic series titled The Amory Wars about a doomed marriage of two characters, Coheed and Cambria. The band signed with Equal Vision Records and released their first debut album in 2002 titled ‘The Second Sage Tribune Blade’. The band eventually toured throughout the United States, Japan, joined the 2002 Vans Warped Tour and with famous rock groups Breaking Pangaea, The Used, Slipknot and Linkin Park. In 2003, the band released their follow-up album, ‘In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3’. Their sophomore album became a certified gold album by the RIAA and the band continued to tour with artists such as Rainer Maria and Thrice among many others. Coheed and Cambria’s live success led to the release of their 2005 ‘Live at the Starland Ballroom’, a DVD of their live performance in New Jersey. The band eventually signed a multi-album contract with Colombia Records where they released ‘Good Apollo’, ‘I’m Burning Star IV’, and ‘Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness’ all in 2005. Coheed and Cambria went on to release eight more albums; ‘Children of the Fence’ in 2009, ‘Year of the Black Rainbow’ in 2010, ‘Aftermath: Ascension’ in 2012 followed by ‘Aftermath: Descension’ in 2013, ‘The Color Before The Sun’ in 2015 with the deluxe version in 2016 and ‘Unheavenly Creatures’ in 2018. Throughout their music career, the band has won 4 MTV Awards and 1 Kerrang! Award and are still active today.
