Cold Bio

Cold is an American rock band, based in Jacksonville, Florida. The band originally operated under the names Grundig and Diablo, and in 1996 they became Cold, consisting of Scooter Ward, Kelly Hayes, Jeremy Marshall, and Sam McCandless. Through the years, the band has changed its line-up a few times. They have six albums including Cold (1998), 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage (2000), Year of the Spider (2003), A Different Kind of Pain (2005), Superfiction (2011), and The Things We Can’t Stop (2019).

The band caught the attention of Fred Durst, bandleader of Limp Bizkit, who passed a few demos on the producer Ross Robinson, who helmed their debut album. They favored technically complex, bleak, and brutal metal with elements of Metallica, Tool, and Jane’s Addiction. They have also embraced elements of soaring and shoegaze and alternative rock like Snow Patrol. Their albums 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage and Year of the Spider became certified gold. Some of their popular songs include titles like Stupid Girl, Suffocate, No One, and many more.
