Colin Farrell Bio

Colin Farrell was born on May 31, 1976, in Castleknock, Ireland. He landed his big break in 2000 when he played Roland Bozz in Joel Schumacher’s Tigerland. He won the London Film Critics Circle Award and Boston Society of Film Critics Award for the role. In 2009, Farrell won a Golden Globe for his role in In Bruges.

Farrell has become a household name with a resume that includes movies like Minority Report (2002), Total Recall (2012), and The Lobster (2015). After The Lobster premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Farrell was nominated for the Cannes Best Actor Award. Farrell was also nominated for a British Independent Film Award and European Film Award for the role. His list of television credits include starring as Detective Ray Velcoro in the popular HBO series True Detective.

While Farrell is most known for dramas and thrillers, his acting credits also include black comedies like Horrible Bosses (2011) and Seven Psychopaths (2012). He also recently appeared in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), a spin-off of the popular Harry Potter series.
