Collective Soul is an American rock band formed in Stockbridge, Georgia in 1992. The group members of the band are Ed Roland as the lead vocalist, Jesse Triplett on lead guitar, Dean Roland on rhythm guitar, Will Turpin on bass guitar, and Johnny Rabb on Drums. The group started with the members Dean Roland, Shane Evans, Will Turpin, and Ross Childress. The band chose their name from a phrase in the novel The Fountainhead. They were signed to the label Atlantic Records and released their debut album in 1993 titled Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid that reached double-platinum status. In 1995 they released their second album self titled Collective Soul that received triple platinum status and was on the Billboard 200 chart for 76 weeks. They have since released the albums Disciplined Breakdown, Dosage, Blender, Youth, Afterwords, Collective Soul, See What You Started by Continuing and Blood. Together they have released a total of ten studio albums and have toured extensively around the United States.
