Columbus Short is an American choreographer, actor, and singer born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 19, 1982. He is best known for his acting roles in the films Stomp the Yard, The Losers, Armored, and Cadillac Records. He moved to Los Angeles at 5 years old and started performing in a youth theater. He left high school to be in the Broadway tour of Stomp. He got his on screen acting debut in 2004 in the movie You Got Served as a dancer. He continued landing roles in the films Accepted, Save the Last Dance 2, Stomp the Yard, This is Christmas, Quarantine, Cadillac Record, Whiteout, Armored, Lucky Girl, True to the Game, American Violence and more. He made his debut on television in 2005 in the show ER and has since had roles in the shows Judging Amy, That’s So Raven, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Scandal. In 2004 he choreographed Britney Spears Onyx Hotel Tour and worked with Brian Friedman on So You Think You Can Dance. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won a Black Reel Award in 2008 for Best Ensemble and an Image Award in 2009 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
